Who has to have this course?

Anyone who hunts in Texas and was born on or after September 2, 1971. (Other states have different age requirements. You must check with them to find out what they are).  

Anyone who hunts on Federal Land ( Grasslands - Corp of Engineer Land - etc... ) regardless of age.

How old do you have to be to become certified?

9 years old is the youngest allowed.  It is mandatory at age 17 or after.  We require that a parent or guardian accompany students under age 17.

What States honor the Texas Hunter Education certification as satisfying the requirements for their certification course?

All 50 States.

Does my son or daughter need certification if he or she is hunting with me?

Not as long as he or she is under the direct control and supervision of an adult.  At age 17 he or she is required to have successfully completed the course.

How much does the course cost?

$15.00 to be paid in person at time of class (Includes all materials needed).
